Method
- Brown your ground sausage (1 pound) in your skillet. Once browned, coat with flour (1/3 cup, 42 g). Cook the coated sausage on medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- To your flour and sausage mixture add in half of the milk (2 cups, 488 g). Stir well and allow it to come to a simmer. Once it begins to thicken, pour in the remaining milk (2 cups, 488 g). Repeat the process of bringing it to a simmer.
- Once thickened, turn your heat down to low. Season your sausage gravy with salt (I recommend about 1 tsp) and pepper to taste. Serve over homemade biscuits and enjoy!
Notes
- Don't rinse the sausage fat. It's important to leave it so that flour has something to bind to.
