If you are a busy mama trying to put from scratch meals on the table, you know how important it is to have simple, reliable recipes and ways of doing in the kitchen.

Today I am sharing my go-to, no fail recipe for perfect rice every single time. You’ll never want to make it any other way again!

Why You Will Love This Perfect Rice Recipe

Fast – This rice comes together in about 10 minutes and is one of my go-to carbs for a meal when I’m low on time.

Simple – No monitoring the burner temp, watching it boil and remembering to turn it down to a simmer. Just dump the ingredients, set the Instant Pot and a few minutes later you have the most perfect rice.

Delicious – There’s just something about a perfectly fluffy side of rice that makes everyone happy. My kiddos love this perfect rice and I know yours will too!

How to Cook Perfect Rice

Step 1 – Rinse rice (2 cups, 410 g) well with water using strainer.

Step 2 – Add rice and cooking liquid (3 cups, 710 g) to Instant Pot insert. Mix well and add salt and spices (optional).

Step 3 – Cover with lid and lock in place. Be sure the valve is locked. Set Instant Pot to high pressure for 3 minutes.

Step 4 – After the cook time is complete, allow the pressure to naturally release for 3 minutes. Then manually release by quickly pushing valve open. Take caution when doing this as the steam will be hot.

Step 5 – Once all of the pressure has released and the lid unlocks, remove the lid and turn the Instant Pot off. Remove the insert and set it on a heat proof trivet for 5 minutes.

Step 6 – Fluff the rice with a fork and it is ready to serve. Enjoy in your favorite dishes!

FAQ

Yes you can absolutely double this rice recipe! It turns out perfectly and you don’t even need to add any extra cook time.

This recipe was only tested using the pressure cook function on high pressure for 3 minutes.

Since the ratio of rice to water is different for brown rice, I do not recommend using brown rice for this recipe.

The proper ratio when cooking this perfect rice is 2 parts rice to 3 parts cooking liquid (water or broth).

Homemaker Tip
