Tips for making the best homemade chocolate sauce
Homemade Chocolate Sauce for Coffee
A huge way we keep to our budget is by making coffee at home. I absolutely LOVE my Breville espresso machine and it has been a great investment (plus the coffee is way better than the coffee shops)!
Every now and then I want to take my usual afternoon latte up a notch and this homemade chocolate sauce is the perfect way to do it.
For an iced coffee: Simply drizzle the chocolate sauce all over the inside of your jar and add in your ice, coffee (check out this homemade cold brew recipe) and milk. Give it a good stir with a spoon or straw and enjoy a delicious iced mocha for a fraction of the cost!
For a hot mocha: Pour your chocolate sauce straight into the bottom of your mug and brew your espresso right into it or if you’re using regular coffee, pour the hot coffee right in! Add in your milk or cream if using and enjoy your cozy, budget friendly hot mocha!
Homemade Chocolate Sauce for Ice Cream
One of the best ways to create fun childhood memories is by having a weekly ice cream bar night. In our home, we call this “Sugar Sunday” and the kids look forward to it every week.
We love having all sorts of toppings for the kids to choose from and this homemade chocolate sauce is the perfect addition! Warm it slightly so it drizzles perfectly over the ice cream and enjoy!
Homemade Chocolate Sauce for Chocolate Milk
Another favorite in our home is chocolate milk! We never buy premixed chocolate milk from the store as it has things like high fructose corn syrup and other harmful ingredients, but we do love making our own!
You can mix in this chocolate sauce to a cup of milk using a milk frother or even a good old fashioned fork! Warm the milk for a cozy, comforting nighttime treat.
Homemaker Tip
Make a batch of this sauce to use for homemade gifts! Fill small glass jars (jelly jars are a perfect size) and place it in a homemade gift basket. Your recipient will love receiving such a delicious gift!
