How does this whipped cream dispenser recipe work?

Unlike whipping cream with a mixer or in a blender, this recipe works by using nitrous oxide chargers to inject gas into the canister of heavy cream. The gas then dissolves into the cream and creates light and fluffy whipped cream.

Once the lever is released to dispense the whipped cream, the pressure change creates the bubbly, foamy version of cream we know as whipped cream.

How to use a whipped cream dispenser

Using your whipped cream dispenser is incredibly simple and quick. All you have to do is follow the instructions for your whipped cream dispenser recipe by mixing up the ingredients, pouring them into the canister, screwing the lid in place and charging the canister with the nitrous oxide charger.

Then you have perfectly whipped, delicious whipped cream.

FAQ

Use your homemade whipped cream within 7 days. Make sure to store the dispenser in the refrigerator between uses.

Homemade whipped cream can become runny for two reasons. One reason being that the cream used was not high enough fat. You want to make sure you are using cream that is at least 36% milk fat. Another reason your whipped cream may be runny is because the canister was not properly charged. Make sure to screw your charger holder on tightly and shake the canister well after charging.

If your whipped cream is not dispensing properly, it could be that your nozzle is clogged. Run the nozzle under warm water and shake the canister well, then try dispensing the whipped cream again.

Yes, it is possible to overcharge your whipped cream. This could prevent it from dispensing properly. If you suspect this may be the case, you may need to release the pressure from the canister. This will cause the contents to spray out, so make sure to wrap your canister in a towel before doing so.
